NYFW Fall Winter 15/16 Recap: MuslimGirl Edition

I think we can all agree that New York Fashion Week was quite a breath of fresh air, right? But after seeing all these amazing outfits, it can become quite overwhelming. Oftentimes, what we see on the runways is difficult to translate into how we might see it in stores or on the streets in coming  seasons. Or rather, the elaborate and eclectic runway looks seem completely out of this universe. But the key to fashion is inspiration. Designers and fashion enthusiasts find inspiration from any and everything, and this includes outlandish runway looks during Fashion Week. Whether you’re “into” fashion or not, I think we can all derive a little bit of style inspiration to incorporate into our own wardrobes.

Here are some key Fall/Winter fashion trends and looks that are modest-friendly and oh so fab.

1. Turtlenecks

Turtlenecks are back and they’re hot, especially when layered with plunging tops.

2. Prairie Chic

The Fall 2015 prairie look is perfect for those transitioning summer days. With deep hues and long loose flowy tops and dresses, it’s ultra trendy and cute — and masjid friendly!

3. Matching Top and Bottom

Matching pantsuits can be worn for both work and casual.

4. Wrapped Blanket Coats

Thankfully this classy look will be staying around for awhile because let’s be real, we all want to achieve that trendy Olivia Pope look.

There were probably hundreds of revamped styles, but hopefully my favorites provide a little bit of insight on what to start implementing into your wardrobes for the rest of this season. Til next year!
