4 High Fashion Looks to Try This Fall

Fall and fashion make for a perfect combo. I love the arrival of thick September issues, new runway collections and most of all — new clothes.

While I do enjoy the thrill of the hunt that comes with summer shopping, fall’s just-right weather makes getting dressed more fun — and not about heat survival. The dropping temperatures always means more modest garb on the way to your favorite store’s shopping racks. I’m talking longer sleeves, cozy sweaters and lots of layering pieces infused with this year’s trends which, rest assured, has got us Muslim ladies covered — literally.

1. High Waisted Pants

Ok, I am so obsessed with these. They are so versatile, even the once-avoided crop top is wearable with them. You could dress these pants down or up, making it a good contender for a closet essential.

2. 70’s Styles

This throwback means flares, fringe and flow. I loved Burberry’s take on the decade with their Fall 2015 collection, aptly named “Patchwork, Pattern & Prints.” I also love Vela’s take on the fringe trend with their white fringed top.

3. Victorian

The fall collections went even further back in time with all the 19th century Victorian on the runway. I saw lots of high collars, white blouses and all-black looks on the runways of Giles, Alexander McQueen — no surprise there — and Givenchy.

4. Athleisure

Remember those Juicy Couture track suits from the 00’s? That’s basically what Athleisure is. It’s gym wear that’s more structured that most people don’t actually work out in. “Werk” is more like it. Athleisure has that killer combo of clothes that look good and are comfortable.
