There was a beautiful woman who wanted to get married, and desired to have a very pious husband. She decided that she’ll marry the man who recites the whole Qur’an every single day, fasts for the whole year, and stays awake and worships Allah all throughout the night.

There was a beautiful woman who wanted to get married, and desired to have a very pious husband. She decided that she’ll marry the man who recites the whole Qur’an every single day, fasts for the whole year, and stays awake and worships Allah all throughout the night.

Her comeliness was astounding and a great number of suitors wanted to marry her, but they knew they couldn’t fulfill the conditions she set… Until this one man stepped forward and said he could fulfill them. So, the Imam married them to each other.

After the first night of the marriage, the wife saw that the husband didn’t recite the whole of the Qur’an, nor did he fast, nor did he stay awake in the worship of Allah . She decided to let it roll on for a few weeks to see if there were any changes. There were none, so she filed a complaint and asked for a divorce.

Both placed before a judge, the judge asked them, “What were the conditions of this marriage?” The man replied, “They were for me to recite the whole Qur’an daily, fast for the whole year, and to worship Allah all throughout the night.”

The judge asked, “Did you fulfill them?” and the man calmly answered, “Yes.”

The judge replied, “You lie – your wife has said that you do not, and that is why she’s asking for a divorce.”

However, the man insisted that he had fulfilled the conditions. So, the judge asked, “Did you recite the full Qur’an everyday?” The man answered, “Yes.” The judge, baffled, asked, “How? How can you do that?” The man coolly replied, “I recite Surah al-Ikhlaas three times a day, and according to Prophet Muhammad , reciting Surah al-Ikhlaas three times is equivalent to reciting the whole Qur’an.”

The judge was intrigued, so he asked, “How did you fast the whole year?” The man answered, “I fasted for the whole month of Ramadan, then kept another six fasts in the month of Shawwal. According to Prophet Muhammad , fasting the entirety of Ramadan and keeping six fasts in the month of Shawwal is as if you have fasted for the whole year.”

The judge remained silent, unable to say that the man was wrong. So, finally, he asked, “How did you stay awake all night worshiping Allah when your wife saw you sleeping?” The judge thought the man wouldn’t be able to answer this one – but the man, cool as a cucumber, answered, “I prayed Salatul Isha with a group (jumaat), then the next morning prayed Salatul Fajr with a group. According to Prophet Muhammad , the one who prays Salatul Isha and Salatul Fajr with a group, it is as if he had stayed up all night worshiping Allah .”

The judge sat there staring at the man in awe. The final verdict was about to be released…

He said to the man and his wife, “Go, just go! There is nothing wrong with this marriage.”

Sadly, Ramadan is spiraling to an end. It’s important that we press the breaks and try to make the most out of these last few blessed moments. Take your eyes off the clock and place them in the Qur’an! Keep saying ithkar and pray all your voluntary prayers. Keep yourself in good company that reminds you of Allah . Pray taraweeh! In fact, take a bag of candy with you to the mosque and give everyone a piece during the break. Help your brother or sister break their fast. Put the [...]

In fact, take a bag of candy with you to the mosque and give everyone a piece during the break. Help your brother or sister break their fast. Put the Qur’an on your iPod and listen to it 24/7. Read some hadith. In these last hours of Ramadan, why not memorize a new chapter of the Qur’an, or even just those few verses that you had trouble remembering before? Be as kind as possible to everyone around you and ask your parents for their forgiveness. Pray for Prophet Muhammad . Keep Allah on your mind every second!

Can think of a few more useful ways to spend the last days of Ramadan? Leave them in the comments!

Could it be the manner in which I speak?
Do you disapprove of the clothes I wear?
Is it the fact that you can not see my hair?
Maybe it’s because you believe I’m weak
Well I for one find fault in your critique
My mode of dress should be my own affair
As natural to me as bowing down in prayer
Is my choice not flaunt my own physique
No man made law should attempt to impede
My desire to do right by my own belief
Don’t imprison me within your own ideal
All the while crying out “she must be [...]

I woke up suddenly one night,
and saw a strange light in my room….
The problem is that the lights are off.
I saw the clock, it was 3:30 in the morning.
Okay… so where is all this light coming from?
———-
I turned around and saw something very strange..
My body was half way through the wall! (?!?)
I immediately pulled it out and sat down to see if I’m okay.
This is strange…
I tried to push onto the wall, but my arm goes through!!
———-
I heard a sound.
I turned to my brother’s bed to see him sleeping.

———-

I heard a sound.
I turned to my brother’s bed to see him sleeping.
I was really scared of what was happening to me… so, I tried to wake him up… but… he doesn’t reply!!

I went to my parent’s bedroom..I tried to wake up my mother… and father… I just wanted somebody to react to me…

but nobody did.

I tried to wake my mother up again… She woke up this time…

———-

She got up… but didn’t communicate to me
She was saying “In the name of Allah, most Merciful, most Gracious” (بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم) again and again…
She woke my dad up saying ‘Get up, I want to check up on the kids.’
My dad replied in disinterest, ‘It’s not time for this, let me sleep and insha’Allah tomorrow I’ll get to that.’

But she was insisting..so he woke up.

I was THERE. I was screaming, “Dad! Mom!” … nobody was replying.

I held mother’s clothes to grab her attention, but she didn’t recognize my existence.
I followed her ’till she got to my bedroom.

———-

They got into the room and turned on the lights…
It wasn’t making any difference to me anyway because there was a strong light there.

I then saw the strangest thing in my life…

My OWN BODY… on my bed.

I was trembling… how can there be two of me??…how can that person look so much like me??…and what is he doing on my bed????

I started hitting/slapping myself to wake up from this nightmare…
but it was too real to be a nightmare.

Dad said, ‘Yalla, see? The kids are sleeping. Let’s go back to bed.’
But mother wasn’t at all confident… she went to the person sleeping in my bed and said,
‘Khalid, wake up!! … WAKE UP!!’
but he wouldn’t reply.

She tried again and again… but no reply.

Then i turned to see my dad tearing…
Today witnesses the first time in my life that I have seen my dad’s tears.

The place was shaking with the screaming.

… My brother woke up…”What’s going on??!”

In a very sad tone, with tears rolling down her cheek, mother replied ‘Your brother’s dead! Khalid is dead!’

——

I went to mother and said ‘Please, mom… don’t cry… I’m right here, look at me!’

But nobody’s replying to me.. WHY??

I turned to Allah and asked Him to wake me up from the nightmare!

Quickly following my supplication was a voice saying (Qur’an):

“You were in negligence from this, so We uncovered the blinds and today your sight is (like iron)”
لقد كنت في غفلة من هذا فكشفنا عنك غطاءك فبصرك اليوم حديد

Suddenly two creatures held my arm… they weren’t human!!

‘Leave me alone! Who are you and what do you want from me??’

‘We’re your grave’s guards’

I said, ‘But I’m not dead yet! Let go of me!’
I can still see, hear, touch, and speak… I’m not dead!

They replied with a smile: ‘You humans are fascinating! You think that by dying your life ends, while in fact life on Earth is a small dream compared to the Hereafter; a dream that ends at your death.’

They started pulling me towards my grave…

———-

On the way, I saw people just like me, each with two guards like mine.
Some were smiling, others crying, others screaming.

I asked the guards ‘Why are they all doing that?’

They replied, ‘These people now know their fate… Some were in ignorance so they–’

‘–so they go to Hell??!’ I interrupted.

‘Yes,’ they said, ‘and those laughing are going to Heaven.’

I quickly replied: ‘What about me..where will I go??’

They said, ‘You were at times a good Muslim, while other times not. One day you obey Allah , the next you disobey Him. And you weren’t clear with yourself, so your fate will remain so: lost.’

I replied, shaking: ‘So am I going to Hell!?!’

They said: ‘ Allah’s mercy is great, and the journey is long ‘

———-

I turned to see my family carrying my body in a coffin, so i ran to them.

I said: ‘Make supplication for me!’

But nobody replied…

I went to my brother and warned him, ‘Be careful with what you do in this life… Don’t be a fool like me!’

I was really hoping that he could hear me…

———-

The two guards tied up my soul on top of my body…
I saw my relatives pouring sand over me…

———-

At that moment, I wished that I would be in their place,
that I can turn to Allah and do as much as He wants from me,
that I would ask for forgiveness and once and for all repent my sins that angered Him…

but unfortunately I couldn’t.

I shouted, ‘People, don’t let this life tempt you! Wake up to the truth… One day you will die, and you never know when or how.’

I hoped for somebody to hear me.
Nobody there could hear me.

But YOU heard me…

———-

Save yourself.

Smile to others. Forgive them even when you have the power to punish them – Allah forgives those who forgive others. Pray regularly with an open heart. Let Allah guide your life, not Satan. Read the Holy Qur’an regularly and let the Prophet be your role model in life.

Work in this timed life for your salvation in an eternal one.

I have grandparents
uncles and aunts
from Palestine and Malaysia
and don’t forget North America.
I also have second cousins
from Italy, Russia,
and Turkey
but don’t forget China
and India
If we’re all together
we create a picture
of faces of diffrent
color and race
but that doesn’t matter
cuz we’re unique as a family.
My family is global
and that’s why
we love to travel.
